John Emil Kuniholm was a rattan furniture manufacturer in Seattle in the early 1900s. Born in Finland, John immigrated to the United States in 1890 and settled in Seattle where he made many different items with rattan including furniture, lamps, and vases.

Danish immigrant Rasmus Peter Jensen made this display case after the fire of 1889. He worked as a carpenter and owned a general store in West Woodland, and made the case from maple trees he cut down on the property.

Melvin Albert (Bert) Weed (1882-1964) began in the pharmacy business in 1898 as a clerk at the Bartell Drug Company. After college he partnered with Albert G. Keene and worked as a pharmacist at Lake Washington Pharmacy which became Weed's Pharmacy in 1910, operating in the same Central District location until 1958.
