MOHAI collects, preserves, and makes accessible archival materials, library items, and artifacts. These historic materials may reflect biased and offensive opinions and violent events. MOHAI does not endorse these views but preserves and shares these materials in our collections to preserve our community stories in their original context.
MOHAI strives to describe people and communities with accuracy and respectful language, using their own words when possible, but our descriptions can include out-of-date language or perpetuate historical inaccuracies. MOHAI staff regularly update descriptions to address offensive or harmful language, and we welcome your feedback at library@mohai.org or 206-324-1126 ext 102.
