MOHAI believes history is for everyone and we are committed to making history accessible to everyone by offering free or reduced admission opportunities. We participate in several different programs to provide museum access for everyone regardless of means.
These programs are made possible by contributions from generous patrons. To help support our community access programs, please consider donating.

First Thursday
MOHAI participates in Seattle’s Free First Thursday with free admission from 5 pm-8 pm on the first Thursday of each month. Generous support for First Thursday is provided by Amazon.
Seattle Museum Pass
Card holders at the Seattle Public Library (SPL) or King County Public Library (KCLS) can reserve a pass for 2 free adult admissions to MOHAI. Two such passes are issued by each museum system daily.
MOHAI Access Pass
Free admission is an option every day with the MOHAI Access Pass. A limited number of passes are available each day to anyone who needs them for any reason.

Open Doors Program
The Open Doors program works with organizations that serve communities who have historically been excluded from museum spaces. These communities include, but are not limited to, Black, Native American, Latinx, Pacific Islander, Asian, refugee, immigrant, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, and people with low and/or no-income.
Through this program, organizations or community groups can reserve a free group visit, or receive admission passes to be distributed to their participants for use on their own schedule.

Museums for All
MOHAI participates in the nationwide Museums for All program, an initiative that encourages families of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly. Visitors may present an EBT card, WIC, or Foster Family credentials to receive free admission for up to four people.
Teen Tix
Teens aged 15-19 may present their Teen Tix credentials for a $5 admission ticket to MOHAI. Teen Tix holders may purchase an additional pass for an adult at the $5 rate on Thursdays.
