Trunk belonging to Roberta Frye, ca. 1890
Roberta Gertrude Frye was born in Seattle around 1870, the daughter of George Frederick Frye and Louisa Catherine Denny. She attended Goucher College in Baltimore for one year. She used this trunk when traveling from Seattle to Baltimore and back. Ms. Frye was an avid local historian and authored "Four Wagons West, the Story of Seattle," among other works.

This bell belonged to Lillie P. White who started teaching in Seattle schools in 1888. She taught at Denny School South and Rainier, but spent most of her 34 teaching years at Rainier. She retired in 1922.

The donor of this mandolin came to Seattle in 1889 at the age of two. She attended Denny and Central Schools, and Wilson's Modern Business College at the corner of 5th Avenue and Virginia Street. She may have played this instrument at school programs or other events.
