Dental X-ray machine, 1925
Jack Harding Baker donated this dental x-ray machine to MOHAI. His practice was located in the Medical Dental Building in downtown Seattle from the 1930s to the 1970s. This particular model of dental x-ray machines were first distributed in 1921 and used into the 1940s.

X-Ray Therapy Machine, ca. 1895-1896
This x-ray therapy machine was used by Dr. Lorenzo L. Stevens, who claims it was the first of its kind to be used in Seattle. Stevens was an early Seattle practitioner who had an office in the Stimson Building and used this device until about 1955. X-Ray therapy was used for treatment of deep seated malignant cancerous growths.

This "Magneto-Electric Machine" is an early electrotherapy treatment machine and was used for the purpose of curing all manner of aches and pains. It was purchased and used by Rolland Denny, a member of Seattle's white settler family.

Wheelchair, ca. 1950
This 1950s wheelchair was donated by Jodie Louise Torgesen, who was a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Monroe, Washington, and a volunteer for the Adventist Disaster Relief Association. Perhaps she used this chair herself, or perhaps it was used by the Disaster Relief Association.

Hamilton Beach drink mixer from Weed's Pharmacy in Seattle, ca. 1940
Melvin Albert (Bert) Weed (1882-1964) began in the pharmacy business in 1898 as a clerk at the Bartell Drug Company. After college he partnered with Albert G. Keene and worked as a pharmacist at Lake Washington Pharmacy which became Weed's Pharmacy in 1910, operating in the same Central District location until 1958.
