In 2021, Fort Nisqually Living History Museum gathered a panel of historians, from the Muckleshoot, Nisqually, Puyallup, Steilacoom and Squaxin Island Tribes, to discuss the legacy of the Treaty War. Such mysteries can be wonderful muses for art and creativity. Join cartoonist and illustrator Kiku Hughes, author of the graphic novel Displacement, for a historical fiction comics workshop, where participants will use photos from the MOHAI archives to imagine the sequence of events surrounding one moment in Seattle's history.
