History Café: Capturing Bertha & the Biggest Tunnel in the World through Film and Photography

Photographer Catherine Bassetti captured one-of-a-kind photos and videos of the SR 99 tunnel project, from hundreds of feet up in the air to hundreds of feet underground. Bassetti's images capture the larger-than-life machinery, the rescue and return of the cutterhead, the emergence of Bertha, and the complete disassembly of the tunnel boring machine.
