This decorative flower pin belonged to Louise McKinney (1930-2012). McKinney was an educator, community activist, and wife of Reverend Samuel B. McKinney of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She had many large pins like this and would wear them as accents on the suits she wore to church.

During the 1920s Seattle had several large downtown hotels, including the Hotel Gowman at 1620 Second Avenue. It later became known as the Stewart Hotel.
