Complimentary gifts bearing business names were once a common form of advertisement. Albert Hansen, a local silversmith and jeweler, most likely made these card holders for the members of the Arctic Club, an exclusive men's social club mostly comprised of those who "struck it rich" during the Klondike Gold Rush of 1897.

Model of a Heckmann's coal wagon, 1895
Henry Heckmann owned a fuel and transfer business in Seattle from the late 1800s into the 20th century. This model wagon was made by Joseph F. Hardwiger as a gift to Heckmann's children in 1895. Hardwiger made all of Heckmann's full-sized wagons.

Frying pan, hand-forged by blacksmith in Seattle, 1884
This frying pan was hand-forged by a blacksmith in the Beacon Hill neighborhood in Seattle. Workers at the Beacon Hill Reservoir used the pan to cook lunch back in the 1880s. The reservoir was lidded with a park in 2009.
