Julius Ullman (1863-1952) was a Seattle artist known for watercolor paintings and murals. Ullman painted for the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), then for the Public Works of Art Project (PWAP) in 1933-1934 when he completed this work. It was installed at the US Public Health Services Hospital, or Pacific Marine Hospital, in Seattle.
