Wednesday November 19, 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Event Series (See All)
  • This event has passed.

Explore the legacy of community health centers, from 1890s Wayside Mission Hospital to numerous modern clinics. Join a discussion with Teresita Batayola (former President and CEO, International Community Health Services), Jesus Sanchez (Senior Vice President & COO of Sea Mar Community Health Centers), and Tom Byers (Former Deputy Mayor of Seattle). Discover how these organizations, run by and for the community, have provided essential healthcare to underserved populations, embodying the spirit of people taking care of each other.

History Café is produced as a partnership between HistoryLink and MOHAI.

ASL Interpretation and CART captioning are available during the program. In addition, a limited number of Assistive Listening Devices are available upon request. For more accessibility support, email programs@mohai.org two weeks before the program.

Grab some food for thought–Gourmondo at MOHAI remains open until 7pm for every History Café.

If you can’t make it to the museum, tune in live on the MOHAI YouTube channel to virtually attend this event.
