This photo shows two miners weighing gold in a comfortably furnished cabin. One man (left) weighs the nuggets in a pan balance while the other holds a pan full of what may be gold dust and small nuggets. Books, pictures, and other personal belongings fill the shelves and walls. The bed is covered with a heavy blanket woven from rags. The photo was taken by B.B. Dobbs at Anvil Creek, near Nome, Alaska.
