Order an ImageMay 8, 1945, called V-E Day, marked the victory of Allied forces in Europe, although World War II still raged in the Pacific. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer published an special addition, with the giant headline "It's over in Europe!" This photo shows a group of sailors and a woman in King Street Station excitedly reading the newspaper.
