Founded in 1892 as the Bureau of Associated Charities, the Social Welfare League of Seattle (now Wellspring Family Services) is a private, non-profit organization helping individuals and families experiencing crisis.

The Social Welfare League brochure seen here includes photographs and the story of Pat, a boy who sought help from the Social Welfare League when he became the head of his family after his father died. The brochure also serves to inform the community about the difference between traditional charity and modern, systematic social service.
