The Seventh Annual United Nations Christmas Festival, known in 1945 as the Victory Festival, was held at Seattle's Civic Auditorium, with costumed representatives from fourteen countries participating in the "Pageant of the Nations Going Home," a celebration of courage and hope after the devastations of war. United Nations representatives from twenty nations attended, and the entertainment also included performances by the University of Washington and Roosevelt High School orchestras, and the Cleveland High School choir and band. As part of a children's program called "Santa Claus in reverse," local children brought presents to Santa, to be delivered by the Red Cross to children overseas. Proceeds from the festival were divided between the American Red Cross and the Seattle Community Fund.
