Toyo Cinema was a movie theater near the intersection of Rainier Avenue S. and S. Orcas Street in Seattle. The building was completed in 1921 and first housed the American Theatre, and later the Beaux Arts Theater. In the mid-1960s, it became the Toyo Cinema, which primarily showed Japanese language films subtitled in English. The Toyo showed new releases, which often filled the theater, as well as classic Japanese movies. The Toyo closed around 1990, and the building was later home to Maxim's nightclub and restaurant. As of 2024, the Black and Tan Hall occupies this location.
