Anti-abortion demonstration, Seattle, October 5, 1986

Order an Image
This image shows a protest against legal abortion, held in Seattle in early October 1986. Based on signs visible in this photo and other images of the same demonstration, the protesters were attempting to raise support for Initiative 479, which would have banned public spending on abortion services. Initiative 479 failed to gather enough signatures to make it to the ballot. This protest might have been associated with a series of anti-abortion protests occurring on October 4, 1986 to mark the beginning of the Supreme Court term.

Signs in image: If You Don't Want Your Baby, [Someone] Else Does. Babies are God's Gift - Don't Kill - We Love You - 15,000,000 are Too Many. Mercy for the Unborn. Adoption Not Aborticide.
