26 Ways to Keep Husbands Happy: Mapleine Dishes Men "Go For", circa 1936
Contact MOHAI to OrderThe Crescent Manufacturing Company was founded in Seattle in 1883 and sold spices and seasonings. In 1905, a Crescent chemist invented an artificial maple flavoring which, under the name Mapleine, became Crescent’s most successful product. Mapleine could be used to flavor a variety of sweet and savory dishes and, mixed with water and sugar, made a economical substitute for true maple syrup. Mapleine remained popular through most of the 20th century, and is still sold as "Crescent Mapleine" as of 2024.
This cookbook, produced by the Crescent Manufacturing Company, contains 26 recipes using Mapleine flavoring, including cakes, frozen desserts, glazed ham, and pickles.
