This cookbook contains 12 recipes for oysters, including scalloped, fried, grilled, oyster paddies, and cold oyster cocktail. The oysters were packed by the Glacier Bay Oyster Company of Seattle, and were likely gathered from Glacier Bay in Alaska. In addition to the recipes, the cookbook includes a story about the health benefits of eating oysters and describes the packing process which allowed year-round, cheap access to fresh oysters.
