Black Pages, Seattle, Summer 2020
Contact MOHAI to OrderThe economic component of racial inequity has inspired many to look for new opportunities to support Black-owned businesses. In 2019, Justice Jones started the Seattle Black Pages, a directory of Black-owed businesses in the Seattle area, with a digital-only launch of the first guide. Increased interest and support led the publishing of the first printed edition in 2020.
The pocket-sized, staple-bound 2020 Black Pages directory shown here lists businesses by category, and includes a community index and business index. Inside the front cover is a dedication to Summer Taylor, who died after being hit by a car during a Black Lives Matter protest in Seattle on July 4, 2020.
