The band Bam Bam was formed in 1983, and fronted by Tina Bell (1957-2021), a Black woman. Bell founded Bam Bam with her husband, Tommy Martin, and friend Scott Ledgerwood. Matt Cameron joined the band on drums, later replaced by Tom Hendrickson. The band is considered one of the founders of what would become the "grunge" music scene, and Bell the "Godmother of grunge."
