Joel M. Pritchard (1925-1997) served Washington State as an elected official for forty-five years. A moderate Republican closely allied with Dan Evans and Slade Gorton, he was elected State Representative in 1958, State Senator in 1966, U.S. Representative in 1972, and Lieutenant Governor in 1988.
This poster for one of Pritchard re-election campaigns for U.S. Representative announces an event "two years in the making" with "a cast of thousands" at the Paramount Northwest Theatre on August 2. The poster borrows heavily from imagery used in the poster for the 1959 movie "Ben-Hur," with some modern updates. Listed as "A Citizens Production," the event is "Rated GOP."
