The poster pictured here is for a concert headlined by Black Flag held at the Thunderbird Gym on Third Avenue North and Mercer Street in Seattle. Black Flag was a punk band from California that was founded in 1976 by guitarist Greg Ginn. This concert was opened by two other California bands with close ties to Black Flag, SWA and Tom Troccoli's Dog.
The band SWA originally started as a concept defined by Chuck Dukowski, former bassist of Black Flag, while he was still a member of that band. The band existed from the mid 1980s until 1992 and released five full-length albums. In addition to Chuck Dukowski, band members included Greg Cameron, Merrill Ward, Sylvia Juncosa, Rich Ford, Ray Cooper, Ed Gregor, Phil Can Duyne, and Ted Falcon. Tom Troccoli's Dog was started by Black Flag roadie Tom Troccoli, and included another Black Flag roadie on drums, Dave Claasen, as well as Greg Ginn on bass.
