The band Student Nurse was formed in Seattle in 1979 by married couple John Rogers (drums) and Helena Rogers (guitar and vocals), and William Adams,(bass), and was later joined by bassist Joe Harris and rhythm guitarist Al Davis. By 1981, Harris and Davis has left the band and were replaced by guitarist Tom Boetcher and bassist Eric Muhs.The band was active until 1984.

This poster advertises a show by Student Nurse at the Rainbow Tavern, with band Mad Dash along playing. The show was held at legendary Seattle nightclub, the Fabulous Rainbow Tavern, at 722 N.E. 45th Street in the University District. The Rainbow first opened at the same location as a beer parlor in 1936 by Frank Salvino (1902-1960). Throughout the 1960s-1980s the club was a hub for the local music scene, and hosted shows by Annie Rose and The Thrillers, The Young Fresh Fellows, Jr. Cadillac, Green River, Robert Cray, and Soundgarden.
