Poison Idea was an Portland, Oregon punk rock band formed in 1980 by Jerry Lang (vocals), Chris Tense (guitar), Glen Estes (bass), and Dean Johnson (drums). The band originally disbanded in 1993, and then reformed and performed intermittently between 1998 and around 2015.

This poster advertises a concert at the Metropolis featuring Poison Idea and two local bands, The Accused and Rejectors. The Accused was created in 1981 in Oak Harbor, Washington by bassist Chibon 'Chewy' Batterman, drummer Dana Collins, and guitarist Tommy Niemeyer. John Dahlin was the vocalist from 1982 to 1984, when he was replaced by Blaine Cook of the Fartz. The Rejectors was a hardcore punk band from Seattle performing around 1981-1983.

The Metropolis was an all-ages music venue located at 207 Second Avenue in Pioneer Square. Started by Hugo Piotten, the Metropolis provided stable access to teens interested in alternative music and culture, where they could see local and national punk bands and hang out with their peers. In the two years of its existence (1983-1984), the Metropolis hosted many of the musicians and bands that would go on to be major players in the Grunge era.
