Napalm Beach and Baba Yaga concert poster, July 26, 1985

Order an Image
In July 1985, punk band Napalm Beach and the band Baba Yaga played Le Club Hit in Seattle. Napalm Beach had formed in Longview, Washington in 1980, but moved to Portland, Oregon. Members over the years included Sam Henry on drums, Chris Newman on guitar, and Dave Dellinger on bass. Napalm Beach is sometimes credited being an early innovator of grunge music. It broke up in 2013.

Nothing is currently known of this particular Baba Yaga band. A female band called Baba Yaga formed in Seattle the 1990s, but that post-dates the poster.

Posters like this one, with only a day date, can be notoriously hard to date. One clue is that Le Club Hit was open only from 1983 to 1985. The venue functioned as a batting cage by day and a club by night, often catering to an under-age crowd.
