Thunderpussy is a Seattle rock band begun in 2013 by Molly Sides and Whitney Petty. The band's breakthrough came after meeting Mike McCready, lead guitarist for Pearl Jam, who then contributed a guitar solo to Thunderpussy's first single, "Velvet Noose." The band later signed with McCready's label, Stardog Records. In 2015 the band gained notoriety when the petition to trademark their name was denied by the Patent and Trademark Office, in a decision still under review by the Supreme Court as of 2019.

The poster is also signed by its creator, Shogo Ota of local art and design company Tireman Studio.
