The letter seen here was sent from the Seattle Fish Company to the Pacific American Fisheries Company on behalf of George Sayers, who was to receive $75.60 for fish that he caught on behalf of the company. The Seattle Fish Co. was operated at the time by Pacific Packing and Navigation Company, a conglomerate of salmon-canning companies that operated out of Alaska from 1901-1904. Mr. Sayers is probably George Saeher (1874-1960) a deep sea fisherman who had moved with his family to Seattle by 1889.
