The business card pictured here is from Wm. Hunt & Co., a local wholesale vinegar company that advertised in the Seattle Times at least from 1900-1945. William Hunt (1866-1859) was born in England and came to the U.S. about 1892. He later opened a food processing plant in the Skagit Valley. An inscription on the back of the business card signed "Jesse Ames" seems to refer to an entry in the "Seattle Trade Register," the first commercial newspaper in Seattle.
Handwritten on verso: "Please deliver to Trade Register [illegible] plate [illegible], Wm Hunt Co." In a different hand: "Received same 1/30/4, Wm Hunt & Co, per Jesse Ames."
