The business card pictured here is from Jacobs, Trenholme & Co., a local storage company that advertised in "The Seattle Times" at least from 1900-1902. The business was initially known as Morgan, Jacobs & Trenholme, but at some point it became solely associated with Charles H. Jacobs (1850-) and James Dickson Trenholme (1866-1919). An inscription on the back of the business card signed "Jacobs" seems to refer to an entry in the "Seattle Trade Register," the first commercial newspaper in Seattle.
Handwritten on verso: "Mr. Wood, Trade Reg - Mon. Will you [illegible] cuts with this Argus man for a week or two, Jacobs, 11/22/01." In a different hand: "Rec'd C. A. Gowler."
