Seattle Ad Club postcard, 1912

Order an Image
The Seattle Advertising and Sales Club, or Seattle Ad Club, was started in 1909 and continues as of 2018 as the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Seattle. The club was founded by local business men in part to investigate and prevent fraudulent advertising schemes.

This postcard advertises the club's monthly luncheon, to be held March 18, 1912, at the Rathskeller. This particular luncheon was sponsored by local company Fisher Flouring Mills, begun in 1911 by brothers O. W. Fisher and O. D. Fisher. Here the company is represented with an image of Seattleite Newton Colman, who did promotional cooking demonstrations for Fisher Flour and appeared in imagery for the brand’s “Fisher’s Blend” flour in the 1910s.
