Incorporated as Rainier Sporting Goods in 1950, and later known as Rainier Camping Equipment, ALL RAINIER, or Rainier Gear, the company sold tents, air mattresses, sleeping bags, camp cots, and other camping equipment for the Seattle Tent and Awning Company. Seattle Tent and Awning Company was begun by S. W. Robb (1866-1929) when he arrived in Seattle in 1896; in 1919 he sold the business to Thomas H. McGroge. The company advertised as "Manufacturers and Jobbers" of silk and canvas tents and goods for mountaineers, sportsmen, and lumber camps. During WWI the plant was the largest producer of goods in the Northwest next to the shipbuilding industry, handling enormous orders for the War Department. The company operated into the late 1970s when it became Seattle Tent and Fabrics.

This brochure advertises various tents, sleeping bags, beds, and marine supplies at Seattle Tent and Awning Co. at 310 Westlake North and Yakima Tent and Awning Co. at 205 West Yakima Ave. The back of the folded brochure includes a camper's check list for a family of four. This brochure was printed in the late 1950s or early 1960s when the Seattle Tent and Awning Company was at its Westlake address.
