The 2017 Womxn's March on Seattle was held in conjunction with other marches around the country to advocate for the rights of women. The march from Judkins Park to downtown Seattle set the city’s record for the largest demonstration of any kind, with an estimated 100,000 to 122,000 attendees.
The two-sided sign pictured here was made and carried by the donor at the Seattle march, and features posters written in Arabic and Vietnamese, symbolizing solidarity among women, regardless of ethnic or racial heritage. The event was named using the spelling "womxn"; organizers stated that this naming was meant to symbolize intersectionality with the transgender community.
