The Hotel Sorrento, one of the city's first "boutique" hotels, opened in Seattle's First Hill neighborhood in 1909. Among the hotel's first customers were some of the millions of visitors to the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, a world's fair highlighting the development of the Pacific Northwest. The Hotel Sorrento continues in business at its original location on the corner of Madison Street and Terry Avenue as of 2025.

This holiday menu is printed in green and red with a poinsettia wreath image on the cover, and bound with festive red and white string. The prix fixe menu offerings for Christmas Dinner of 1923 include starters, a main course with sides, fruit salad, dessert and beverages, all for $2.00 per plate.
