American Italian Athletic Club menu, circa 1937

Several Seattle Italian organizations, including the American Italian Athletic Club, joined in 1935 to form the Italian Club. They moved into a new headquarters at 620 Union Street in 1937. The club was open only to men of Italian descent .

This elegant dark red menu features silver lettering on the front and an image of a discus thrower. Daily $1.25 specials include boiled Finnan Haddie on Friday, and Swiss Steak Bordelaise on Saturday evening. The Chef's Suggestions included a baked ham, chicken and asparagus sandwich for $1.50 and Spaghetti and Ravioli Italian style for $1.00.
