"The Chimes for Ken's Hamburgers" restaurant, located in Seattle's University District, was named after a tower built in 1904 on the University of Washington campus. Chimes Tower, originally a water tower, was converted in 1914 to house twelve bells. The tower burned down in 1949.

The Chimes restaurant opened in 1938 at 4330 University Way. Cut in the shape of a hamburger, this Chimes menu opens horizontally to display its selection of burger and fountain delights. Offerings include tulip sundaes for 20 cents, a tuna sandwich for 30 cents, and the signature Ken's Husky Hamburger for 35 cents.
