The Gay Games are an international sporting competition intended to provide a place for LGBTQ+ athletes to participate without discrimination. Participation in the Games is open to anyone, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, or physical disability. The Gay Games were launched in 1982 in San Francisco and have been held every four years since. Gay Games III was held from August 4-11, 1990 in Vancouver, B.C. and included 7,300 athletes competing in 27 sports. The Games also featured a Cultural Festival with 1,500 artists participating. Sporting events included team sports, swimming, cycling, martial arts, billiards, and croquet. The Cultural Festival included poetry, theater, a film festival, dancing, and musical performances.

This sheet has instructions for Team Seattle athletes about the proper uniform for the opening and closing ceremonies at Gay Games III. At the Opening Ceremony, athletes gathered by country and city, and Team Seattle was the third-largest contingent.
