David Thomas Denny II (1867-1939) was the sixth of eight children born to early Seattle settlers David Thomas Denny and Louisa B (Boren) Denny. In 1891 David II married Nellie Elizabeth Graham (1871-1956), daughter of another couple who had settled in Seattle in the 1850s, Elizabeth (Crammond) Graham and Walter Graham. Together Nellie and David II had three children, Inez Louisa (Denny) Whiteaker (1893-1963), Walter Claude Denny (1896-1932), and David Thomas "Tommy" Denny III (1898-1986).
In this image, David poses for a formal studio portrait, wearing a three-piece suit. He appears to be in his mid-twenties. David worked as an electrical engineer for most of his adult life.
