Seattle-born photographer Al Smith was a familiar figure in the clubs, often taking pictures of musicians and patrons, then returning the following week to sell prints.
On this occasion, Smith photographed an elegantly dressed woman wearing a hat, dress, sequined coat and sling-back shoes. The woman is identified as Marion Meyers , but the location is the bar of the Black and Tan club on 12th Avenue South, just south of Jackson Street.
