Order an ImageSeattle-born photographer Al Smith was a familiar figure in the Jackson Street area nightclubs, often taking pictures of musicians and patrons, then returning the following week to sell prints. Here, Smith photographs two US Navy servicemen enjoying drinks at a nightclub bar. A slip of paper filed with the negative identifies one of the men as Lafayette Beech. The location is probably the Basin Street club.
