Jim Marsh (1946-2019) was a founder and coach of the youth amateur basketball program Friends of Hoop Seattle, the president of Mentoring Works Washington, and the television announcer for the Seattle Supersonics for 12 years beginning in 1982. During his long career in youth basketball, Marsh formed deep bonds with his players, coaches, and competitors - teaching lessons about life outside basketball, buying snacks or shoes for children that needed them, and instructing coaches to say every player's name with a compliment and a smile.
