The International Sweethearts of Rhythm, the country's only integrated all-women band, came to Seattle in September 1944. They played twice at the Civic Auditorium and also performed at the Black and Tan. Here, the saxophone, drum, and trumpet players, in matching outfits, play at the Black and Tan.
