The International Sweethearts of Rhythm, the country's only integrated all-women band, came to Seattle in September 1944. They played twice at the Civic Auditorium and also performed at the Black and Tan. Here, at the Black and Tan, their trumpet player solos as members of the appreciative audience listen and dance.
