Order an ImagePaul Robeson (1898-1976), was an American singer, actor, athlete, and internationally-renowned political activist. Here, Robeson stands at a podium, appearing to speak from notes. Paul Robeson performed at the Moore Theatre in Seattle in February 1947 and this photo may have been taken during that visit. At the time, Robeson was about to retire from performing to go on a lecture tour, and he may have lectured in Seattle during his March 1947 visit, or later that year.
