The Washington Talking Book & Braille Library (WTBBL) is a program of the Washington State Library, providing access for any resident of Washington who is unable to read standard print material because of visual impairment or disability. The WTBBL began in 1906 as a program of the Seattle Public Library and became part of the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS) in 1931. Its funding switched to the state in 1975, and Washington State Library took over the program in 2008. WTBBL received the Network Library of the Year from NLS in 2009, 2016, and 2022. It was also honored for its work by the Seattle mayor in 2012.

This image shows the Washington Talking Book & Braille Library on 9th Avenue between Lenora and Virginia Streets, where it has been located since 1983 except for a brief stay in the Love Building while this building was renovated.
