Bernhard Albers and his four brothers founded Albers Bros. Milling Company in 1895. By 1905, an Albers Bros. mill was located at the foot of Massachusetts Avenue in Seattle, where they produced several products including cornmeal and tapioca. In 1929 the Carnation Milk Products Company acquired Albers Bros. Carnation was headquartered in the White-Henry-Stuart building. The company was later purchased by Nestle, though products with the Albers label are still available today.
