The Olympic Hotel's Marine Room menu, circa 1945
Contact MOHAI to OrderThe Marine Room was located inside the Olympic Hotel at 411 University Street. This "Cocktail Compass" structure, which is known as a volvelle, rotates to reveal recipes for cocktails, like the "Olympic Special." The two color design resembles the face of a compass and reveals a short message with each recipe. The Gin Rickey says: "For That 'Low Tide' Feeling." The Olympic Hotel, built in 1925, was home to several dining areas including the Marine Room, Terrace Room, Georgian Room, and the Spanish Ballroom.
