Nineteen-year-old Timothy Eagan shot this photograph of Paul McCartney and George Harrison singing together into a single mic early in the band's 29-minute set. A wall of police officers, standing shoulder-to-shoulder, is visible along the left edge of the stage. For this event, a platform was constructed 12 feet above the original stage to protect the band from rushing fans. Fifty police officers and one hundred Navy sailors formed a barrier between the band and its ardent fans throughout the Seattle concert. Timothy Eagan, a Seattle native who grew up on Queen Anne Hill, went on after his Beatles experience to work as a professional photographer in Seattle and New York. His three rolls of film of this historic concert were rediscovered after his death in 1993.
