The poster pictured here advertises a concert featuring The Dynette Set, a rock-pop band fronted by singers Shelly Stockstill, Christy McWilson, and Riki Mafune, and backed up by Bill Larsen, Brent Pennington, Dave Drewry, and Scott McCaughey.
The show was held on Saturday, August 28, probably in 1982, at the Fabulous Rainbow Tavern, at 722 N.E. 45th Street in the University District. The Rainbow first opened at the same location as a beer parlor in 1936 by Frank Salvino (1902-1960). Throughout the 1960s-1980s the club was a hub for the local music scene, and hosted shows by Annie Rose and The Thrillers, The Young Fresh Fellows, Jr. Cadillac, Green River, Robert Cray, and Soundgarden.
