The poster pictured here advertises a concert featuring The Partay, a band made up of members from other local bands: Teddy Jan and Jim Lilly from Kidd Afrika (1967-1982), and Carson Michaels from The Reputations (1979-1987, 2011-present). The line up also included special guest "David the Singing Sound Person."
The shows were held on two consecutive Monday nights, July 12 and July 26, probably in 1982, at the Fabulous Rainbow Tavern, at 722 N.E. 45th Street in the University District. The Rainbow first opened at the same location as a beer parlor in 1936 by Frank Salvino (1902-1960). Throughout the 1960s-1980s the club was a hub for the local music scene, and hosted shows by Annie Rose and The Thrillers, The Young Fresh Fellows, Jr. Cadillac, Green River, Robert Cray, and Soundgarden.
